Theo ‘Sox’ Phophi is the man that levelled the scores in Limpopo’s clash against UWC in Bellville, but he was left to rue a number of missed chances on the night.
The team from the north came close to securing their first-ever Varsity Football victory, but could not find the crucial winner as UWC held on for the draw at home.
“I wish we could have won the UWC game, we created so many chances, it is just their goalkeeper (Reon October) played so well.
“But, that shows that we improving and lady luck will smile on us soon,” said Phophi
The Tshivenda speaking man said winning the coveted title of FNB Man of the Match against UCT rates as his best moment in the Varsity Football tournament, thus far.
“I enjoyed my game against UWC, I even scored, but I have to say winning the Man of the Match against UCT is one moment I will remember for my entire life,” he said.
The Sibasa born 20-year-old lists two of his biggest ambitions as playing for the Amakhosi, while staying true to his Bachelor of Accounting Sciences degree by qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.
