North-West University, dubbed the Noble Boys, clinched yet another victory and defended their number one position on the Varsity Football log in a 1-0 victory against University of Limpopo at the NWU Stadium.
As expected, the Noble Boys went into the encounter charged with momentum gained over their previous victories against University of Western Cape and most recently, University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), and swept the competition away with an unmatched header in the 26th minute of by Lebogang Phetlhu, much to the thrill of the NWU supporters. This would mark Lebogang Phetlhu’s third goal in the tournament.

In an attempt to save face, University of Limpopo went on the offensive for most of the match but NWU goalkeeper, Luzuko Jevuka, would have none of it and fended off any attack waged against NWU’s fortress.
“I am very excited to have assisted the team in securing the three points for this match. Every game is different and we take each game as it comes,” were the words of NWU goal scorer, Lebogang Phetlhu.
