NWU-Mafikeng head into their home clash with the University of Limpopo sitting pretty in third position on the log and are overwhelming favourites to pick up their second victory of the tournament.
Despite only picking up one point from their opening games, UL have made an impressive start to their debut season in the competition and will be hoping to pull off an upset against last year’s semi-finalists.
NWU are coming off the back of a hard-fought 1-0 home victory against UWC while UL will be hoping to bounce back after a 2-0 loss to UFS-Kovsies.
There is little doubt that UL are underdogs who have nothing to lose but their coach, Burney Mampshika is confident his charges will leave the North West with maximum points.
Both teams have been fortunate not to pick up any injuries and are both fielding their strongest possible squads.
It’s David versus Goliath in this clash and UL will be hoping to re-enact the fable in NWU’s backyard.
