After claiming a hard-fought 4-3 win over WSU in Mthatha on Monday last week, VUT’s confidence is sky high ahead of their clash with Wits at home.
VUT’s current attacking gameplan will be key at the ‘Slaughterhouse’ in Vanderbijlpark as they seek to secure themselves a spot in the semifinals.
Coach Gomma Masango said that after the positive result in Mthatha last week his team are full of confidence.
“The attitude from the whole team is magnificent, the mindset is positive and we are prepared especially judging from our previous game,” said the coach.
Masango’s boys needed a win to secure a spot in the top four, and could not be stopped as they were out for blood. They go into Round Six with their sights set on the finish line.
“Winning the last game means a lot to us,because we are now back in contention, anything can happen in the next two weeks. Semifinal is now our priority,” he said.
Throughout the season they have provided end-to-end action and heated the encounters, showing skill and self-efficiency all the way.
The boys in red and blue are starting to look a class above their opponents as the clock is quickly ticking towards the end of the tournament.
They have now been practising hard preparing to face Wits, who are just two positions below them on the log.
VUT will host Wits on their home turf. The game will be televised live on Supersport, with kickoff at 17.00.
