NMMU notched their second straight Varsity Netball victory by beating VUT 57-28 in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.
Following their away win against UCT, the Madibaz impressed their home crowd as VUT slumped to their second defeat in as many games.
The home side made an assured start to the game, and by the first break they had already established a solid 15-6 lead.
The visitors were fighting hard, but battled to build any real momentum and trailed 28-13 at the half-time break.
That left VUT with it all to do in the second half, and they threw absolutely everything at the Madibaz in an attempt to fight their way back into the contest.
However, they could not turn things around and NMMU took a comfortable 41-22 lead into the final quarter.
The biggest question was whether the home side would go on to claim a bonus point, and they managed without much of a problem to notch their second win of the season.
