UWC will be hoping to pick up maximum points in the third round of the Varsity Football tournament when they welcome UFS-Kovsies to the UWC Stadium on Monday, August 4.
The hosts have been rocked with injuries to key players following their opening games and will need the entire squad to come to the party in order to put the tough start behind them.
Notable omissions for the Cape side are Keenan Davis (ankle) and Cleo Pokpas (knee) whose experience will be missed. Their places will be taken by Robin van Rensburg and Akhona Bonga respectively. Goalkeeper Reon October will hope his fine form continues and that it will rub off on the rest of the squad.
Their opponents, UFS-Kovsies, head into the match with a lot of confidence following their 2-0 victory over the University of Limpopo and will want to leave Cape Town with maximum points.
Unlike their hosts, Kovsies have no injury worries but have made two personel changes for their trip to Cape Town.
Glen Rikhotso and Kakudi Moreleba being brought in to replace Christopher Makgoe and Simon Modupi respectively.
Maximum points for Kovsies will keep their dreams of a semi-final berth alive whereas a win for UWC will do wonders for their confidence as they try to resurrect their Varsity Football campaign.
An exciting game of football is on the cards with both teams going in search of the three points.
