Following a fixture change, UP-Tuks will welcome UKZN to the capital for their Round 6 clash on Thursday.
The match was supposed to be held in Durban but unforeseen circumstances will see the clash now take place in Pretoria much to the delight of the Stripe Generation’s head coach, Tlisane Motaung.
“It is definitely an unexpected surprise. Playing at home suits us better and we believe our chances have improved exponentially,” Motaung tells varsitysportssa.com.
“Having said that, there are no easy matches in this tournament. UKZN may be last on the log but they have the talent to beat any team so we will need to have our wits about us.”
WATCH: How UP-Tuks returned to winning ways against CUT…
UP-Tuks did well to secure a 2-1 win against CUT last week and it will be much of the same for the Pretoria outfit when they face UKZN on Thursday.
“I was pleased with how the players took their chances and found the back of the net. However, we are not nearly the team we could be so this week’s match is another opportunity to be better.”
Thursday’s match is set to kick-off at 18:30 and tickets are available on the Varsity Sports App (available for iOS and Android users) and here: https://varsitysportsa.plankton.mobi/. For match updates, follow @VarsityDiski on our social media channels.
