NWU-Pukke ended the league phase of Varsity Netball unbeaten after a comprehensive 81-14 victory over UCT in Stellenbosch.
The Potchefstroom side showed their class and never gave UCT a sniff to go into the semifinals on Monday as the top seeds.
The log-leaders dominated from the start, as they took the game to UCT who never really looked like breaking their winless run in the competition.
UCT have suffered from some slow starts in the competition, and this match was no different as a re-jigged Pukke side scored over 20 goals while shutting them out completely in the first quarter.
It was more of the same from there, with Pukke steaming to a 48-0 advantage by the half-time break, leaving them just short of a bonus point and in complete control.
The Cape side regrouped well and managed to score 10 goals of their own in the third period, although they still trailed Pukke 65-10.
To their credit UCT fought hard right until the end, but they had been outplayed by an impressive Pukke side.
