UCT will be kicking off their road to victory in this year´s Varisty Netball, on Monday 5 September, with a game against VUT at the Coetzenburg Indoor Centre in Stellenbosch.
With a win against VUT already in the bag earlier this season, the UCT side hope that previous good performances will be repeated, despite the challenge VUT still present as an opposing side. Coach Sue Schooling says that “the team are feeling positive and confident” leading up to Monday´s big game.
Due to the addition of new players, this will also be the first time the team will be playing together in a competition of this prestige, but as Captain Simone Peters says: “we will make the best with who we have.”
Challenges facing the UCT team will not be stumbling blocks in the path of this tenacious group of ladies though, who plan to go into their first match with some game-plan changes, positive vibes and a claim to their motto: Give it 100% until the end.
