The UCT team battle it out against the Maties this coming Monday at the Coetzenberg Indoor Centre in Stellenbosch, at 19:00pm. UCT aim to bring their A-game in their match against Maties, in the hopes of building on good performances thus far.
Entering this year´s competition with a brand new team line-up, the UCT side have definitely grown as a squad and have built up good team dynamics that they´ve shown out on the court.
Despite losing to Madibaz and Tuks, the team are ready to bounce back at the chance to prove themselves once more on the court, against Maties. “The team will not approach the Maties game any differently to the Tuks game and we hope to build on attacking efficiency and challenge them to the best of our ability on defence,” said coach Sue Schooling.
The team aims to build on every game and learn from past errors and downfalls, which will succeed in improving their overall game performance.
UCT are currently facing some challenges with regards to players contracting the flu or being unavailable due to academic commitments, but these ladies are up for any challenge and are taking it on positively. As Schooling says, the team are showing “heart and determination”. Giving it “100% until the end” has definitely not left the hearts of this tenacious group of ladies.
