Hlalele has scored in every match for TUT this year, putting his tally at three goals so far in the competition. The Free State-born forward was also on target when TUT beat UFH 2-1 at the TUT Stadium yesterday to maintain their position at the top of the log.
Hlalele believes that winning the top scorer award will open many opportunities for him to realise his dream of playing top-flight football very soon.
“I am very happy with the way things are going for me and the team so far in the tournament,” said Hlalele.
“It’s always a nice feeling to score goals for your team. My main goal is to win the top scorer award because I believe it will open many opportunities for me to be scouted by professional teams,” he added.
TUT remain unbeaten in the Varsity Football tournament this year and Hlalele credits the team behind his team’s success this year.
“Everyone in the team from coaches to the players, is playing big role,” he said. “We are working as a team.”
