TUT made it three wins from three when they beat UFH 2-1 at the TUT Stadium on Monday.
Sipho Sibiya and Jacob Hlalele were on target for TUT as they claimed three points to maintain their position on top of the log. Andile Batyi scored the goal for the visitors.
TUT were the better team throughout the game but were let down by poor shooting. The visitors relied on their offside trap to keep the home team strikers at bay. UFH were first on target when Batyi broke through the home defence to beat TUT goalkeeper, Dumsani Msibi in the 33th minute. However, TUT was not dispirited by the goal and found an equaliser in the 42nd minute via a header by Sibiya to take the game to half time with the scoreboard reading 1-1.
The second half was replica of first half with TUT still in control of the match with FNB Man of the Match Sbusiso Ndlovu calling the shots in the middle of the park. It came as no surprise when the home side increased the scoreline again, with a header and this time Hlalele getting on the score sheet following a brilliant square ball by Katlego Kgetjepe, who came darting in off the right flank in the 48th minute.
TUT continued to control the game and we’re unfortunate when Dumsani Msibi missed the target from penalty spot after second half substitute Tumelo Mowa was brought down inside the 18 area box by Masilive Nyosi with few minutes before full time.
The referee blew the final whistle with TUT taking the three points after beating UFH, who remain rooted to the bottom of the log without a point.
