TUT will be hoping to avenge their deafeat to UJ in last year’s final but before they get there, they need to overcome UWC in Mafikeng.
The Pretoria ladies have played the Cape side once before at the USSA Nationals and that game ended in a 3-3 draw but coach Tebogo Mokae believes his side are ready to take the game by the horns.
“We are ready. We know they will want to come out and beat us because we are the USSA champions but that accolade is in the past. We want to add the Varsity Football trophy to our cabinet,” he said.
Mokae is expecting UWC to employ the long ball as their gameplan but said his team is going to counter that by keeping the ball on the ground and making the Cape side chase the ball.
“We are going to keep the ball in the ground for as much as we can so that they can run a lot and get tired,” he added.
TUT have been hard at work working on the attacking aspect of their game in the hope of scoring plenty of goals on their way to the final.
The match will be played in Mafikeng after the men’s semifinal between NWU and Tuks.
