After notching their first Varsity Netball victory over UCT in Cape Town, TUT have turned their attention to their next match against Maties in Stellenbosch.
The Tshwane side beat bottom of the log log UCT 43- 35 at the UCT Sport Centre on Monday, and coach, Mninawa Ndaku said they are now looking forward to their next match against Maties at the DF Malan Indoor Centre on Monday.
Ndaku said: “We are now ready for the next matches. We are playing top teams and we have been improving from game to game. The win has boosted the levels of confidence in the team. We are now more hungry and are focused to win.”
Ndaku added that their driving of the ball is now a whole lot smoother than when they first played in the tournament against the University of Pretoria.
He said” “There are still areas they need to get better on in order to keep the momentum going.
“Though getting balls on rebound has improved, we still don’t time them well. We are still a bit late on them. We also lost consistency in the third quarter because we got too relaxed when we realised we were leading,” added the TUT coach.
Though Ndaku rates Maties as a top team, he said there are areas that they can exploit.
