TUT captain Khuliso Rashamuse has hailed his teammates for what he termed as a gallant performance in their Varsity Football victory over Tuks on Monday.
TUT defied all odds to beat Tuks 4-1 in an interesting and fast flowing game played at Tuks Stadium to open their Varsity Football campaign in fine style.
TUT have joined NWU Mafikeng as joint leaders in the log but the Tshwane based team remain in second position due to goal difference.
“I think we were better team on the day”. We knew they will come to us,we had to sit back and catch them on the counter attack,” said Rashamuse.
“I believe the boys came to the party and our game plan worked very well,” he added.
TUT are set to be travel to Cape Town next week Monday to face the University of Western Cape in their next Varsity Football match.
“It is too early to count the chickens before eggs hatch but the victory against Tuks was a big morale booster.
“We just have to take each game at a time and not be carried away by our win. Our focus is on our next match and we hope top get another three points in Cape Town next week,” added Rashamuse.
