The University of Pretoria will be a confident team ahead of their final regular season match against the University of Witwatersrand next Monday.
Their confidence stems from their Varsity Football record 9-1 win against the University of Fort Hare in the penultimate round, but the Pretoria team still needs to win if they want to secure a playoff spot.
“Wits are going to come at us hard. They have not had a good season this year and are playing for pride,” UP-Tuks captain Simbongile Njokwe told varsitysportssa.com.
“We just need to keep grounded, withstand their onslaught and come away with three points,” he added.
Hard working defender Nicholas Killas returns from suspension and Njokwe is pleased that he is back in the mix. “Nicholas and I have built a strong partnership at the back so I’m happy that we can team up again,” Njokwe said.
UP-Tuks travel to Johannesburg to face Wits at the Wits Stadium on Monday, 29 August. Kickoff is scheduled for 18:30 CAT and will not be televised.
