UP-Tuks and Maties played out a tense 1-1 draw in Potchefstroom on the second day of Varsity Hockey action on Sunday.
The Cape side took the lead through a well-worked goal from Protea star Quanita Bobbs, but their northern rivals hit back with a penalty goal from Kara Stella to level the scores.
Maties will be desperate to bounce back when they take on Kovsies on Monday, after losing their opening encounter to home side Pukke and finishing their match with Tuks on level terms.
Tuks head into their final clash with UCT unbeaten after securing a 2-1 victory over UJ on Saturday and drawing with the competitive Maties outfit.
