UFS are a consolidated group of players having spent the last month together concentrating on all aspects of game-play such as attacking and defensive phases with a focus on scrums and lineouts. No specific conditioning program was followed by the team as all the players currently train in the Varsity Cup Squad.
UFS have been rated 5th in previous USSA tournaments however did not compete in 2011. This only acts as a motivational force for the boys from Bloem.
Notable players include AJ Coertzen and Marnus Marais (both competed for Free State sevens) as well as Francois Pretorius.
