NMMU made it three consecutive Varsity Netball wins in front of their home crowd with a comprehensive 67-22 victory over UCT.
The Eastern Cape side brushed the visitors aside easily to add to previous victories over UJ and Maties, whilst UCT are still looking for their first win of the competition.
NMMU took control of the game early on, moving the ball around well and capitalising on UCT’s errors well to establish a 19-5 lead at the end of the first quarter.
UCT tried hard to work their way back into the game, but they were right up against it as NMMU continued to pull the strings and had built up a 29-10 advantage by the half-time break.
NMMU turned up the pressure after half-time, and pulled away even further with a decisive blitz in their Power Play which left UCT way off the pace.
To their credit, UCT fought hard until the end, but they were no match for the intensity of their hosts who cruised to a comfortable victory in the end.
