Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. We are heading into an explosive Monday and some won’t be able to watch as their teams will be eliminated in the last round of matches. Who will have the last laugh? Who will pack their bags as the other four teams march on ¬– to the semis? Read on to find out who will win their last matches and why.
UWC vs TUT
For TUT it’s a dead rubber. They are already through to the knockout stages and have a home semi-final to look forward to. But they will want revenge, having lost to the holders in the final last year. UWC are making a very late bid to make the knockout stages. Someone seems to have woken them from their slumber and they are desperate to sneak into the last four. They have the home ground advantage and large crowd behind them, but will it be enough? TUT are a force to be reckoned with in this year’s competition; they are unbeaten and they will want to keep the momentum going.
Prediction: TUT to win 2-1
Wits vs Tuks
This is a big game. But Wits are still searching for their first win of the campaign and this will make it more interesting for the neutrals. Registering that first win against past champions like Tuks will offer them a consolation in a season that everything has gone horribly wrong for them. But Tuks need the points more than their struggling rivals, to guarantee their passage to the knockout stage. This match will bring the best out of Tuks.
Prediction: A draw, 1-1
UFH vs UJ
This is a miss-match when it comes to comparing the two teams pound for pound. UJ are a free scoring side, while the new comers are leaking too many goals. On paper it looks like an easy stroll for UJ. But teams that have nothing to play for are usually dangerous. The minnows from one of SA’s oldest universities are at home and want to give their fans something to cheer about. They will suddenly be forgiven for their heaviest defeat to Tuks last week if they can stun UJ. But UJ have enough ammunition to see this one through.
Prediction: UJ to win 3-1
CUT vs NWU-Mafikeng
The home team are the surprise package in this year’s competition and they are high on confidence. CUT can take on any team and beat them on their day. They are not second on the log by fluke and they have a chance to show that to people who are still not convinced about their good form in the competition. NWU-Mafikeng are desperate for a win or they might as well kiss their semi-final chances goodbye. They still have a game in hand, but they cannot afford to take their eye off the ball.
Prediction: Cut to win 2-1
