With the Varsity Football Final fast approaching you can have your say in who should be named as Player of the Series and also win some fantastic prizes.
Sponsors FNB, Debonairs Pizza and Samsung have combined with all eight Varsity Football coaches, and the fans to nominate three finalists, and it is time for you to nail your colours to the mast and vote for your favourite, with some great prizes up for grabs as well.
The first finalist is TUT captain Khuliso Rashamuse who led his side on an unbeaten run through the league phase of the competition which saw them end at the top of the standings.
Rashamuse is a hard-working defender whose committed approach made him an inspirational presence for his side on their remarkable run until their exit in the semifinals at the hands of NMMU.
The second finalist is UFS captain Ricco Sutil, who worked his socks off throughout the tournament as the Bloemfontein side eventually finished in a creditable fifth place.
The energetic midfielder provided the creative spark for his side and although they did not always have things their own way, he never failed to stand out.
The last finalist is the tournament’s top goal-scorer Thabo Mnyamane, who was the spearhead on attack for the powerful NWU outfit.
Mnyamane’s attacking instincts saw him score his seven goals in three matches, which saw him land a professional contract with PSL outfit AmaTuks.
The final decision on which player is announced as Player of the Series will be determined by a split vote with fans voting on the Varsity Sports website and Facebook page making up 40% of the vote, the input of the coaches counting for 30% and the Varsity Sports MANCO the other 30%.
