Despite having already secured their place in the Varsity Football semifinals ,TUT are not ready to relax but will continue to fight hard to keep top position on the log.
The Tshwane outfit beat UCT 3-1 at the TUT Stadium on Monday to remain on top of the log with 13 points after five games in the league.
This means that they are guaranteed a spot in the knock-out stages of the competition already, but they are not taking anything for granted.
TUT are set to meet NMMU in their next home game next Monday and vice captain Themba Nkosi says the team will approach the game with the same mentality and will to win.
“We can’t relax but to keep our position on the log. The games are live on TV and we want to market ourselves,” said Nkosi.
He added that the team was not satisfied with their performance against UCT and will look to raise their game against second-placed NMMU next week.
“We will go to the next game with one thing in mind and that is to win the game. I think we should have buried UCT under an avalanche of goals but we were a little casual in front of goals. I am confident that we will win our next match against NMMU next week Monday,” he said.
.
TUT are also set to welcome back their captain Khuliso Rashamuse after served his one match suspension following the red card received during the match against UFS recently.
