Maties ran riot against NMMU in Johannesburg on Sunday, handing the Eastern Cape side a 7-0 defeat.
A hat-trick from Chloe Pheiifer saw the Stellenbosch team cruise to what was a comfortable win in a game that they controlled from the start.
Maties got out of the blocks fast and racked a 4-0 lead in the first chukka with some breathtaking hockey.
NMMU simply had no answer and found themselves defending for long periods of the match as Maties put the finishing touches on their victory.
Illse Davids was the star for Maties, with her tireless performance earning her the player of the match award.
Maties face hosts UJ tomorrow in a match that will be broadcast live on Supersport, whilst NMMU are up against UCT.
