Despite winning all three of their Varsity Netball matches thus far, the NMMU Madibaz know that they face a significant test in their clash with UP-Tuks on Monday.
The Eastern Cape side made it a clean sweep of victories on the opening weekend of the competition, beating UJ, Maties and UCT at home, but they are taking nothing for granted against what will be a very strong Tuks outfit.
The Madibaz currently sit in second place on the log behind NWU-Pukke who have a better goal difference, and they will have home advantage once more in the match against Tuks as they look to make it four wins in a row.
Madibaz Netball manager said that although her team is unbeaten, they know that Tuks will be significantly bolstered by the return of their national players, which means that NMMU will have to be on top of their game if they are to continue their winning streak.
“Madibaz is currently leading the log with Pukke but we know that the game against Tukkies will be very tough with their national players being part of Monday’s selected team.
“NMMU Madibaz will also be strengthened with the likes of Nontle Gwavu (GK) who will also join the team on Monday. Tukkies has the strongest line-ups in the series but we are confident that Madibaz currently is very positive on their good start to the series and will definitely not be the underdogs for the game,” she said.
