UFS Kovsies ended the opening leg of their Varsity Netball campaign with a bang as they beat TUT 75-26 in Pretoria on Monday.
In their first televised match on Supersport, the Blomefontein side rose to the occasion as they took TUT apart.
It was TUT’s third straight defeat and leaves them firmly at the bottom of the standings, whilst Kovsies backed up their impressive performance against Tuks on Sunday well with a polished display.
The Free State side got on top early on and had raced out to a 22-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.
By half-time it was 30-7, as Kovsies Goal Attack Ane Botha started to impose herself on the game, despite the intentions of TUT centre Kagiso Ratladi and Goalkeeper Molewane Mogale who both fought hard.
The second half was just as tough for TUT, who have been pitted against three very strong side so far, and Kovsies ran out comfortable winners in the end.
