The Kovsies side got their Varsity Hockey campaign off to a convincing start with a 4-0 victory over NMMU in Potchefstroom on Saturday.
The Bloemfontein side scored two goals in each of the last two periods of play to cruise to a comfortable victory over the Eastern Cape team.
National striker Izelle Lategan grabbed a hat-trick of field goals and was supported by SA Junior World Cup squad member Cornelle Botha who got a goal of her own in the 4-0 rout.
Kovsies next face UCT on Sunday, whilst NMMU will take on hosts Pukke in another tough clash.
