UFS Kovsies bounced back from their opening loss to Pukke with a hard-fought 53-46 victory over UP-Tuks in Pretoria.
The Bloemfontein outfit went down to their old rivals from Potchefstroom on Friday, but made amends on Saturday by beating Tuks on their home soil.
Tuks goal shooter Elouise Annandale had another impressive outing, fighting hard for every ball in front of the home crowd, but Kovsies kept their composure well to seal victory.
Tuks battled to penetrate at the start of the match, with Kovsies goalkeeper Iselma Parkin thwarting them a few times, whilst UFS goal shooter Danelle Williams found her range in the second quarter to give them a 26-22 advantage at half-time.
Although Tuks pushed hard right up to the final whistle, Kovsies were simply too strong, with Ane Botha claiming the FNB Player of the Match award following an energetic performance.
Kovsies will face TUT on Monday, and Tuks face the tougher prospect of Pukke as they chase their second victory as well.
