There was drama in the Women’s 100 metre Hurdles as Kovsies’ Ansulet Potgieter stumbled after clipping the last hurdle, handing a slender victory to Rikenette Steenkamp from UP-Tuks.
There was little to seperate the two in the final stages of the race until Potgieter’s costly error which saw her finish in second place ahead of Mihandra Dorfling from NWU-Pukke.
In the Women’s 100m Pukke’s USSA champion Melissa Hewitt showed her clss by powering over the line ahead of Elzette Buys from UP-Tuks. The race for third place was very tight with Nabeela Parker taking it on the line from Chante van Tonder and Bernice Roman.
The Women’s 200m saw national champion Justin Palframan take a comfortable victory, cruising over the line ahead of UP-Tuks’ Phillipa van der Merwe with TUT’s Petunia Obisi coming in third.
