UP-Tuks will look to pick up the pieces against the University of Fort Hare after they lost 3-2 against CUT in Round Five of Varsity Football.
With two rounds left of the regular season UP-Tuks are in a precarious situation as they may miss the playoffs off the back of what has been a disappointing season for the two-time champions.
Head coach Tlisane Motaung stated that the team has not hit panic stations just yet but they know how crucial the next two matches are ahead of the playoffs.
“We are not panicking now. We know that we have let ourselves down so far but we can rectify our mistakes,” he told varsitysportssa.com.
“We are not looking for a draw against UFH. We need maximum points so we will be pushing hard to score goals and win. Otherwise our destiny will not be in our hands,” he added.
UP-Tuks host UFH at the Tuks Stadium on Monday, 21 August. Kickoff is scheduled for 18:30 and the match will not be televised.
UP-Tuks starting XI: Dylan Paterson, Simbongile Njokwe (c), Nicholas Killas*, Richard Moremi, Tiago Da Serra, Mbongeni Masilela, Khumbulani Siluma, Mogau Khwinana, Sabelo Tsambo, Siphesihle Sosibo, Frank Mpedi
