Final – 20 August 2021
On the back of a very successful working relationship between IndaloBio and ASEM (Advent Sport Entertainment and Media) during the FNB Varsity Cup competition, Varsity Sports has welcomed IndaloBio as its exclusive health testing partner ahead of the Varsity Netball tournament set to get underway on 21 August.
The intervarsity netball showpiece will be played in a bubble, similar to the manner by which the FNB Varsity Cup tournament was executed earlier in 2021.
‘We are very excited to have IndaloBio on board for our Varsity Sports competition as the Official Health Testing Partner,’ said Xhanti-Lomzi Nesi, Varsity Netball Tournament Manager. ‘The partnership was concluded following the very effective and clinical manner of working we experienced during the FNB Varsity Cup competition earlier this year.’
IndaloBio will provide health testing services to all participating teams, officials and tournament staff taking part in the Varsity Netball and Football competitions. The health testing is primarily used for Covid-19 Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (Rt-PCR) testing during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Cape Town-based ISO 9001:2015-accredited genetics laboratory has agreed to provide Varsity Sports with the best possible testing service plan, to ensure all participants, team officials and support staff are given the best possible medical support around Covid-19 testing strategies.

‘We are aiming to bring high-performance testing to high-performance sport,’ said Ali Kiyaei, Commercial Operations Director of Indalo Bio. ‘With the successful execution of the FNB Varsity Cup, we are optimistic that this partnership will bring more high-performance sports back to the field.’
The Varsity Netball tournament gets underway on 21 August and will be played over nine days. The partnerships with FNB and SuperSport have made it possible for all 36 matches to be broadcasted live on SuperSport.
