Maties produced a clinical performance to hand hosts UJ a 61-39 Varsity Netball defeat in Soweto on Monday.
The Stellenbosch side will face log-leaders UP-Tuks in their semifinal next week, whilst it was the last match of the tournament for UJ who finished in sixth position.
Maties made an encouraging start to the game as they took control early on and went into the first break with a 17-8 lead.
They extended that advantage further in the second quarter to go into the half-time break with a healthy 33-17 advantage.
It was more of the same in the second half as Maties took their lead out to 46-28 by the final break.
The Cape side wrapped up the bonus point early in the fourth quarter, and cruised to a comfortable victory in the end which will give them plenty of confidence heading into their semifinal next week.
