Lifting the Varsity Netball trophy on Monday would be the perfect fit for Tshina Mdau to finish her stellar career with Tuks.
Mdau will play in her very last match for Tuks, having represented them since 2014. She will become the first player to play in five Varsity Netball finals.
The wing attack and captain of the Pretoria students is doing her honours in B.Com Agricultural Economics.

Most memorable match in the tournament over the years?
I have played so many matches. There is no standout one as they all have their moments, good and bad.
What part of Varsity Netball do you enjoy the most?
The travelling makes one feel like a professional athlete. It is an addictive lifestyle.
What’s your hobby outside of netball?
Spending time with loved ones.
What job do you think you’d be good at?
Being an agricultural economist.
Do you have a hidden talent?
Nope, I am super ordinary.
What’s the most impressive thing you know how to do?
Lying on the spot for a good reason or cause. I have perfected that art.
What are you addicted to?
Burgers and ice cream.
Which current opposition player would you have on your team and why?
There are a few. I can make a whole team with a few of the opposition players.
What’s your least favourite netball exercise?
Running lines
With which celebrity/celebrities do you have a photo together?
Ummm, none. I see them as regular people.
What day in your life would you like to repeat?
Every day I spend with my nephew and all the parties which one of my close friends hosts.
What song have you completely memorised?
The Power play song. There is a love-hate relationship with it!
