UCT Warriors will host UWC in the Cape derby at the Green Mile with the intention of ruining the Bellville student’s slim chances of sneaking into a semifinal spot.
The home side have put up valiant performances at home but have yet to produce a win for their efforts which leaves them rock-bottom on the log.
UWC, on the other hand, occupy sixth position with eight points – two points off third, fouth and fifth place which leaves them with a slim chance of still getting into the top four if they beat UCT and other results go their way.
Warrior’s keeper Bevan Adonis shared his concerns of the lack of training due to academic commitments.
“It may be difficult to prepare this week because so many team members have tests but we will try and be as prepared as we can,” he said.
Despite this fear, Adonis is confident about his team’s chances against the more fancied Bellville outfit.
“It’s a Cape Derby and we’ve always been able to compete against them (UWC), so we won’t be doing them any favours,” he added.
