Born and bred in the town of Bethlehem in the Free State, Lehlohonolo Mokoena is one of Kovsies’ rising stars.
Showing capability from the impressionable age of six, Mokoena hasn’t stopped since to carve his way to soccer stardom.
Mokoena went to Harmony high school in Bethlehem which is known as a sports academy.
“I liked kicking the ball at an early age and it turned out that I wasn’t too bad at it. I would say it’s my God given talent,” he said.
Mokoena chose Kovsies as a university because it is the closest to home and says he hasn’t regretted making that decision since day one.
Playing for only two years at the UFS, Mokoena was presented with the prestigious award of second runner up in the USSA Championships in 2013.
Mokoena is extremely fond of his team and couldn’t be happier to play with such great people.
He also says that Kovsies is indeed a benchmark for professional teams.
“The main focus here at Kovsies soccer is development. The technical stuff we are taught here has a lot of innovative plans for the team. I think these plans will definitely take Kovsies to a higher standard,” he said.
