LESEDI MOKWENA (NWU)
Mokwena is the last line of defence for NWU and showed a safe pair of hands when his team was under pressure in the second half.
The goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in the 2-0 win against TUT – his second of the tournament – after pulling off a couple of great saves.
He was quick to come off his line to collect crosses, read the game well and distributed the ball superbly to launch counterattacks.
SELOTOLA MATHUANE (TUKS)
With their match against Wits heading for a 1-1 draw, Tuks needed a hero.
Step up debutant Mathuane, who scored a beautiful 88th-minute free-kick.
The crucial 2-1 win keeps Tuks’ semi-final hopes alive after they had drawn and lost their first two matches respectively.
THULANI SIBISI (VUT)
VUT’s dangerman is getting better with each game.
Sibisi is a poacher, and he was the quickest to react to a loose ball to score in his team’s 3-2 victory over UKZN.
That took his tally for the tournament to four goals, level with Banele Hlophe (NWU) and Sello Diphoko (Kovsies).
NGOANAMELLO RAMMALA (UJ)
Rammala rarely finds the back of the net, but when he does, it’s through a moment of brilliance.
Having created three assists in UJ’s first two games, he scored a fantastic long-range goal to help them beat Kovsies 1-0 and move to the top of the log.
The Polokwane-born winger has already won two FNB Player of the Match awards, and is an inspiration for his team.
