TUT will use the challenge of playing against highly experienced players in the 2022 Varsity Netball competition as a motivation to perform better.
This is the word from TUT coach Emily Mathosa in the build-up to this year’s tournament. And the Pretoria-based team has their work cut out for them with their first match in this year’s competition on Saturday against last year’s runners-up, Maties, in Pretoria. On Sunday (18 September) they take on former champions, Tuks, on home turf.
Mathosa says every time the team steps onto the court, the aim is to do better than before.
“It’s been quite a busy year but we had to make sure we make time for our players and prepare for the next tournaments. And that’s the thing with Varsity netball, the same players who are competing here, are the ones who play for their districts at the provincial level.”
