UJ got their Varsity Netball campaign up and running with a vital 63-24 bonus-point win against UCT in Port Elizabeth.
The Johannesburg side went down to a spirited NMMU outfit in their opening match on Friday, but bounced back well to cruise to victory over UCT.
Defeat made it two losses for UCT who went down to their Cape rivals Maties on Friday and are still looking for their first victory.
The UCT ladies simply had no answer for the power and precision of their UJ counterparts, who never really looked under threat.
UJ’s Ilze Jones was named the FNB Player of the Match as her side dominated from start to finish, leaving UCT with more questions than answers.
UJ next face Maties on Monday, whilst UCT will be looking to get off the mark in their clash with unbeaten hosts NMMU.
