The road to the final has started and there is no turning back. There will be tears and jubilation on semi-final day. But who will be crying and who will be smiling? Are we going to witness the Tshwane derby between TUT and Tuks or is it going to be the battle of the underdogs in the final? Let’s just wait and see what’s going to happen. TUT vs CUT
Defeat is the last thing on the minds of TUT and their passionate fans. Victory is non-negotiable for the red machine. But the fact that they are unbeaten in two years going into the semis could play out in one of two ways for them. It might be good or bad. CUT have nothing to lose and could produce their biggest scalp of the competition by upsetting TUT at their slaughterhouse. TUT is an oiled machine while CUT struggle to contain attack-minded teams away from home. They conceded a late goal against Tuks in their last visit to Pretoria and another sort of performance against TUT in the West part of the city will see their bubbles burst in the early stages of the semi-final. But TUT need to be careful of a team that has nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Prediction: TUT 2 – CUT 1
Tuks vs UWC
Their last round robin match was a dress rehearsal for Thursday’s match. Tuks won the game 2-1, but at stake is a place in the final and their last match counts for nothing now. It was a tight affair when the two teams squared off and we are expecting another close encounter. Tuks appear to have picked up the momentum at the right time, while UWC have it all to do against the two-time champions. On their day UWC can cause an upset, but Tuks will not let this one slip through their fingers this time.
