NWU-Mafikeng is set to take on Central University of Technology (CUT) in an away game on 29 August 2016 at the CUT stadium in Bloemfontein, Free State.
Having recently recorded their second win of the tournament, against University of Western Cape (UWC) this past Monday, team NWU-Mafikeng has set its efforts on wrapping up the two remaining away matches with a win in order to comfortably qualify for the semi-finals of this year’s Varsity Football tournament.
“The week of the 29th is the most challenging of all the weeks we have played. The team will play two games in one week and that requires serious mental and physical stamina. But I am confident the boys will deliver as they have done against UWC,” said Team Manager, Vuyo Sambo.
Currently ranked second on the Varsity Football log, CUT leads team NWU-Mafikeng with four points to NWU’s seven, who are in sixth place on the log. It will be a test of the tenacity and mental prowess of NWU-Mafikeng. Their capacity to play two games in one week and still manage to be sharp on the pitch and deliver the two wins the team needs to advance to the semi-final leg of the 2016 Varsity Football tournament, will be vital.
NWU-Mafikeng face CUT at the CUT Stadium at 19:00 on Monday 29 August. The match will be live on SuperSport channel 210.
