UJ were too strong for TUT in Stellenbosch, and registered a comfortable 75-41 victory on Sunday.
The bonus-point win puts UJ into fifth place ahead of the play-offs, although they can still be overhauled by Maties.
UJ grabbed the early initiative and raced out to a 10-0 lead as TUT were forced to chase the game from the outset.
The Pretoria side managed to find their feet somewhat but still went into the first break trailing 20-6 to a disciplined UJ side.
TUT rallied in the second period as they started to gain somemomentum of their own, but UJ were still very much in control with a healthy 36-19 lead at half-time.
UJ wrapped up the bonus point after half-time and although TUT were winning their fair share of turnovers the Johannesburg side took a 55-28 lead into the last break.
Although the game was effectively over as a contest both teams played hard until the final whistle, with UJ amassing 75 goals in the end.
