UP-Tuks were ruthless in their 68-28 Varsity Netball victory over UCT in Cape Town.
The defeat means that UCT are still to win their first Varsity Netball match, whilst the bonus-point win was vital for Tuks ahead of the play-offs.
The visitors wasted no time in stamping their authority of the game and raced out to a dominant 24-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Although Tuks were devastating going forward, it was their defence that really stood out as they shut the home side out completely.
The second period was just as tough for the hosts, although they did manage to find the net a few times despite struggling to contain Tuks.
The visitors were 42-11 ahead at half-time, but there was something for the crowd to cheer about at the break with Springbok legend Chester Williams joining in the half-time shoot-out.
Tuks were forced to call two injury breaks in the third period, but that was not enough to stop them from claiming the bonus point as they established a huge 56-18 advantage by the final break.
The final period was much closer as UCT managed to get some good passages of play together, but it was not enough to stop Tuks from cruising to a comfortable victory.
