The NMMU Madibaz cruised to a comfortable 59-22 victory over TUT in their Varsity Netball clash in Port Elizabeth.
The home side started like a house on fire, taking the game to TUT and building up an early lead as the visitors were forced to chase the game.
The Madibaz had built up a 12-5 lead by the end of the first quarter, and came out all guns blazing in the second period as TUT were left behind.
By half-time NMMU’s lead was 27-9 with the bonus point firmly in sight as they continued to pull away.
The Madibaz took their Samsung Powerplay in the third period and took full advantage. TUT took theirs soon afterwards, but the hosts managed to wrap up the bonus point before the final break.
TUT fought hard to the end, but they never really troubled the home side who looked comfortable throughout.
