NWU-Pukke beat hosts UP-Tuks 59-49 in Pretoria on Monday to maintain their unbeaten start to Varsity Netball.
It was the Potchefstroom side’s third victory in as many days, following wins over Kovsies and TUT.
A late rally saw Pukke claim a bonus point, with their goalkeeper Zandre Kruger named as FNB Player of the match after an inspired performance in the fourth quarter.
There was nothing in it in the opening exchanges, as the sides traded blows in an evenly contested match.
The home side had a slender 16-15 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Pukke worked hard in the second quarter and had hit the front at the half-time break with a 30-26 advantage.
By the start of the final quarter they led 38-29, and maintained that advantage in the final stages as Tuks threw everything at them.
