The action at the Varsity Football Final will not be restricted to the pitch, with plenty of exceptional entertainment lined up!
Whilst the main attraction at the LC de Villiers Stadium in Pretoria on Monday will be the clash between UP-Tuks and NMMU at 19.00, there will be a lot more for the crowd to enjoy.
Things will kick off with the ladies final between TUT and UJ at 16.30, which will be followed by a full prize-giving with Dennis Mumble and Flip van Zyl handing out the medals.
Next on the menu will be a performance from Khaya Mthethwa, who will get the crowd going before he sings the national anthem ahead of the main game, which will be broadcast live on Supersport 7.
While Tuks may have the home advantage, NMMU Madibaz fans will also have a chance to show their support for their team at the Madibaz Fan Park at the Indoor Sport Centre on the South Campus in Port Elizabeth.
Half-time of the final will see the crowd get an opportunity to get involved with the Shoot for a Shirt activation, Cell C/Samsung Smadzadza and Debonairs Super Fan awards with some great prizes up for grabs. So time to all all out for the fans at Tuks stadium!
FNB is bringing a FanCam which takes an ultra high resolution 360 degree photo of the entire stadium and all the fans and players in it moments before the kick off of the main game.
As was the case with the semifinals, there will be no extra-time played, which means that if the teams end the 90 minutes tied up the match will go straight to the drama of a penalty shoot-out.
The post-match ceremony will see the trophy handed to the champions by Dennis Mumble, Professor Julian Smith and Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula, whilst the Player of the Tournament, Debonairs Dynamite Goalkeeper and Samsung Super Striker will also be crowned.
Expect an explosive finale to the inaugural Varsity Football challenge!
