UJ and Varsity Athletics star Zarcke Visser stole the show at a Diamond League meeting in Zurich where he claimed the long jump title.
Visser dominated the long jump events in the Varsity Athletics series earlier in the year, and he backed that performance up in Zurich this week by beating fellow South African and Olympic silver medallist Khotso Mokoena into second place.
Visser had failed to make it past the qualifying round at the IAAF World Championships in Moscow two weeks ago, but had no such worries in Zurich where he blew the competition away.
The UJ star started with a bang, recording three jumps over the eight-metre mark, and took the title with a monster leap of 8.32m which was over 20cm further than Mokoena managed.
This result came as a surprise to many, except those who saw him jump consistently over eight metres in taking both Varsity Athletics long jump titles.
