Football is a surprising sport, it’s a sport that not even the best analysts will be able to predict 100% accurately.
Even the best football clubs in the world end up losing games. We caught up with three extremely passionate, determined and hopeful UP-Tuks players who feel that there is no need to worry just yet despite claiming just four points from their first three matches.
Nii-Odartey Mills, Jarryd Van Den Berg and Mosa Sesele all feel that Tuks have players that can finish and they have faith in their team mates they just feel that they all still need time to settle in and find their confidence.
Yes they won the USSA championships last year and a lot of pressure has been placed on them, but they feel that you haven’t had the opportunity yet to experience the best of their performances and the team feels that their coach Evangelos Vellios is doing everything in his power to enhance their performance naturally and motivating his players in everything they do.
Van den Berg said: “It was an accomplishment having seen everything come together in the Wits game, everything that the coach had planned for them in the training sessions was finally coming together in the game and hopefully we will see it all come together in more games to come.”
Sesele feels that there is one big thing with Tuks, it is that they never doubt, they are in a competition to win it.
They go into competitions knowing that they can win it and that they really really desire to win it, even after the 4-1 loss against TUT they felt like they could still win it, after the 2-0 win over Wits they felt like they can still win this so it will always be there the ability to always want to win.
The Tuks team said that the contribution of their fans has been key in their campaign and extended their thanks to their loyal supporters.
