Following the return and successful completion of the 2021 Varsity Netball tournament, ASEM (Advent Sport Entertainment and Media) formally announced that Red Bull is the official Varsity Sports energy drink partner.
The partnership kicked off during the Varsity Netball tournament and will continue during the highly-anticipated Varsity Men’s Football, Varsity Women’s Football, and into 2022.
‘The last year has been a very strange one for all live sporting events, and Varsity Sports has not been immune to these changes, so this new sponsorship deal with Red Bull comes at the right time and sits well within the youth sports market which we have been a part of for nearly a decade,’ said Xhanti-Lomzi Nesi, Varsity Sports Tournament Manager.
Red Bull will be the exclusive energy drink supplier to the final two Varsity Sports campaigns for the 2021 season. Players and teams will be supplied Red Bull product throughout the tournament to utilise in their moment of need.
Red Bull will also add to the match-day experience, which is synonymous with all Varsity Sports competitions, with a pitchside DJ, to bring the South African ‘gees‘ for those playing and involved on match day but also those who are watching from the comfort of their homes.
‘Red Bull Media House has been known to produce some brilliant, thought-provoking creative content and we look forward to creating great content together throughout the partnership,’ Nesi added.
‘So many similarities exist within these two brands, so the partnership makes sense. Varsity Sports is all about #ChangingLives, while Red Bull’s messaging focuses on a “way of life” narrative. These two can now co-exist.’
