NWU coach Monde Hlatshwayo says his team is ready for the Varsity Football encounter with the University of KwaZulu-Natal to be played on Thursday at the UKZN campus in Pietermaritzburg.
“We are in a good state of mind going into this game, we understand what is at stake. Yes, it still lingers in our minds – the last defeat we got when we played them in Port Elizabeth in the University Sports South Africa finals,” said Monde Hlatshwayo.
“We are going down to UKZN to face the USSA champs, so there is little motivation that the technical team can give, as this game is one of those that players self-motivate themselves for, because they know it’s not going to be easy,“ added Hlatshwayo.
The NWU coach added that they always try to keep a good attitude for every game. “Our attitude always remains the same, we always try to represent with pride and to win. Our goal will never change, even though we cannot guarantee the result but we will represent with pride.”
Commenting on the possible line-up for the upcoming game the coach said, “We shall see as the week progresses, we have another casualty now after our last game on Thursday but we are hoping that when we travel down to KZN we will have a clean bill of health. We also plan differently for every game. The analysis of our last game against UKZN gave us a lot to think about.”
