Things are heating up as we approach the third round of this year’s Varsity Cricket tournament in Potchefstroom.
The first delivery will be bowled at 09:30 as the Maties take on Kovsies and the defending champions UP-Tuks are up against UCT, at the NWU-Puk Oval and Ibbies Oval respectively.
Maties will look to continue with their strong batting side against Kovsies, as well as against the men in orange from Johannesburg, UJ, to claim another victory.
The Kovsies, who gained momentum in round two in their clash against Madibaz, will look to build upon it as they face Maties and UP-Tuks in round three.
UP-Tuks, the defending champions, who were on the wrong end of an upset in round two against UWC, will come back strongly to redeem their name in round three when they take on UCT up first, followed by Kovsies in their second match on Wednesday.
The victorious men in orange, UJ, will encounter Maties in their second match of the day in the hope to continue where they left off against the UWC side.
Madibaz, who lost against Kovsies in round two, as well as the home side NWU-Pukke, will seek the opportunity to claim their first victory of this year’s tournament as they step onto the pitch to take on the men from UWC.
But all roads will lead to Senwes Park for the main match of round three as the hosts the NWU-Pukke look to build on their rhythm and to continue their winning streak.

Match Three (14:30-17:30): Maties vs UJ @Senwes Park
Match Four (14:30-17:30): Kovsies vs UP-Tuks @NWU-Puk Oval
Match Five (14:30-17:30): NMMU Madibaz vs UWC @Ibbies Oval
Match Six (18:00-21:00): NWU-Puk vs UWC @Senwes Park
