The unbeaten NWU-Pukke side is looking forward to maintaining their rhythm in this year’s Varsity Netball tournament when they face the University of Pretoria (UP-Tuks) in Stellenbosch on Sunday at the Coetzenburg Indoor Centre.
With UP-Tuks on top of the current standings and with a one-point difference against Pukke, the match on Sunday promises to be exciting.
In last year’s tournament UP-Tuks managed to clinch a close match against the defending champions in the pool games with a final score of 58-51 in Pretoria.
During the week’s training the Pukke team only focused on their own game and not those of the opponent.
“This past week we focused on consistency and to continue with our rhythm. Also not to slack as a team during one of the quarters. Furthermore, we also worked on our different combinations that not only seven players play strongly together, but with substitutions all twelve can play strongly,” said Chanté Bester, captain of the NWU-Pukke.
“We also practised our power plays as we want to improve on our strengths and to minimalize our weaknesses,” added Bester.
With an unchanged NWU-Pukke side, will they give yet another classy performance on Sunday at 16:00? Catch all the action live on SuperSport 10.
